Can birth control pills help acne and over the counter acne treatments

If nothing else is working for your acne, these are the general guidelines you should follow. It is definitely the last acne solution that you would ever need if most of the stuffs on the market is not working. Even if your acne is healing by using those medications, you should also consider going at it naturally since acne medications cause some major side effects that would affect your life.
The efficacy of birth control pills as acne control can vary from person to person. While with some, it can cause a complete disappearance of acne, others claim that their condition has worsened. There are side effects to using birth control pills as well. There can be weight gain, water retention, nausea and mood swings.
Acne is not simply caused by dirt or build-up, but dirt and oil can worsen the condition. Other factors that elevate the chances of acne are certain tumors, endocrine disorders, oily skin, exposure to weather extremes, hormonal changes, stress, and the use of certain drugs (such as estrogen, testosterone, cortisone, and others). Acne is not contagious. A tendency to develop acne can persist through ages 30's to early 40's.
